DIY Comic Book Table
I was looking online for some cool ideas to put my old comic books to use and I thought I would share this with everyone. I came across an old, but definitely sweet video by cakeycharms on how to make a comic book covered desk. If you are squeamish around brutal paper violence, you may not want to watch the video...or do the project. Otherwise check it out:
The video goes step-by-step on how to make the table, but the main concept can be applied to any surface. Chairs, shoes, that bird feeder you had to build in shop class that looked more like sifter pan the 49ers used in the wild west. Just me?
Anyways, the most five important materials you need are:
- Comic Books, duh!
- Mod Podge
- Clear, non-yellowing sealer
- Brushes
- And Masking Tape
Make sure to clean the surface you wish work on and outline any edges or areas you don't with to be affected with the masking tape. Then, start placing the comic pieces on the surface and cover with a layer of Mod Podge.
Quick tip: Make sure to move quick as Mod Podge dries fast.
I plan on doing this in the coming weeks, but it will probably be something much smaller. I will update everyone on it via Twitter.
If anyone has tried this and has any tips or better techniques, post a comment below. I would love to see other people try this as well so feel free to post photos in the comments as well.
